Knitting-Shima Seiki 2015
Shima Seiki is a leading knitting technology company. All designs listed in this section were knitted with Shima Seiki knitting machines. The designs were first programmed in the Shima Seiki software. All programs were simulated to check their looks and sizes. Once the programs were confirmed, they were sent to knitting machines in different gauges based on the preset parameters. The knitted products were then washed and dried to shrink to the designed sizes. For some designs, they were printed with Shima Seiki’s inject garment printer using reactive ink to get the desired looks.
Design 1 - Whole Garment
The garment was designed for office ladies who spent days sitting in front of a computer. The knitted fabric was soft and comfortable to wear. A warm color inspired by clothing worn by Chinese royals was chosen. Paintings of children playing on the grounds were picked as motifs for printing. The goal was to provide energy for the wearers and keep them positive.
Design 2 - Whole Garment
An oversize cardigan was designed for office ladies to wear so that they can keep warm in an A/C environment. Same patterns were simulated with different yarns and prints.
