Student Works - TAM3032

In this project, students work as teams to practice the development of textiles and apparel products through four stages in line with the lecture contents (business planning, creative planning, technical planning, and production planning). Students majoring in merchandising make teams with students majoring in apparel design. The project is graded based on the quality of scheduled presentations and the final reports, teamwork contributions, and the attractiveness of the developed products.

The following example shows a collection of scarves developed by six students. They position their brand, Bombyx, as a silk accessories company based in New Orleans, Louisiana, whose focus is to rebuild commerce, so inefficiencies in the system are removed. Their solution is to use digital printing technology and ethically sourced silk, work with local designers, and produce original and artful products made responsible way to bring more textile production into the city and employ local women.

The following is another student class project example. Their brand’s name is Bella Femme. Their brand mission is to make every woman feel confident while expressing her own unique style! They provide ethically sourced products along with service with a personal touch that makes every customer feel as special as they truly are. Every person should feel accepted for who they are unique! Below gives an example of the tech pack they developed for one look from their collection.
